Finchale Priory, County Durham

This is an ink drawing (210 x 297mms) of the remains of Finchale Priory, a 13th Century Benedictine priory on the banks of the river Wear in County Durham. I remember it was an overcast, autumnal day and a brisk breeze was whistling through the bare branches of the trees. I was alone among the ruins and I recall thinking if someone speaks or taps me on the shoulder I will have a heart attack there and then! Very spooky.
